Field Trip to the Leslie Science Center Em was so excited to ride the bus for her field trip to the Leslie Science Center (I wish I could have shared her sentiments!). We had fun learning about Native Americans, animals and plants. Yet still, the highlight for Emmie was the bus. :D
Halloween Lunch We dined on witch's hats, pumpkin face nacho dip, spiderweb eggs, eyeballs, spiderweb soup, werewolf fingers, veggie mummies, cookie catapillars and lions! Yum, yum! Boy we were full!! And what fun it was!!
Halloween Fun at Gymnastics! This week Emma and her gym friends were asked to come in costume. Since Emma's costume was a little long for tumbling we modified it a bit with her ballet leotard and she had a blast!! :D
Making Halloween Cookies Emma loves to help cook. She even helps wash up after we are done- now that is my kind of helper! We also had a lot of fun with the marble run while we waited for the yummy cookies to bake. :)
Halloween Fun at the Y! Fairy Emma and crew enjoyed a fun afternoon at the Y playing games, trick or treating, hanging out with friends and of course getting the fairy's face painted. It was a great event!
Emma also had a great time at Maddie's birthday party! It was a busy day, starting with soccer, then Juliette's party and rounding out the day day with Maddie's party. The mint, brownie, oreo cake was delish and the kids had fun just hanging out and being together. Meg at a great idea for each of the kids to do a scrapbook page for Maddie too! :) Happy Birthday Maddie!
Emma had a great time at Juliette's birthday party Emma had never been to build-a-bear (although we have done similar stuff a bear stuff :) and had a great time "making" her new purple cat. Happy Birthday Juliette!
Weekend at Auntie Shell and Uncle Paul's New House We had a great time hanging out in Shell and Paul's new place. We shared great meals together, watched Emma perform a few shows for us, ate yummy cake and opened lots of presents. A fun weekend indeed :D
First school day without Mama and Papa Emma had a great start to the school year! We are so happy our long decision making process has paid off; she loves school and we couldn't be happier!
The Christmas Carol Train While at Greenfield Village earlier in the week, Emma and I heard about the train coming for a short visit that featured items from the new Disney movie the Christmas Carol. We decided it sounded fun; returned to visit the train and catch a glimpse of the movie before it opened in theaters. Even though we decided the movie was a little too scary for Emma and probably won't go see it when it comes out, we still had a lot of fun, especially with the bubble snow! :)
Annual Trip to Lake Michigan We had another great year up at the Lake with Grandma Mary Ann and Grandpa Byron. It was also great to see Shell and Paul, Kim, Grant and Liam; and Tomi, Denny, Grace and Jayce. We had fun celebrating birthdays, swimming, playing and EATING (and more eating) together! Can't wait to see you all at the lake next year!
On the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan In all of my travels I have seen only a few beaches that revile the beauty of Lake Michigan. The sandy coastline is beautiful and the water isn't salty!! What more could one ask for (except maybe a few degrees warmer)? :D
The Dunes! Some of us preferred to hike up the dunes to see the beautiful view of the lake, others of us liked to run up the dunes in order to slide back down the other side or to build a fort, others yet loved the dunes to play a friendly game of dog tag... and then there were those who decided taking a pick up truck up the dunes would be fun! :) We all had a great time!!
Maine- Emmie, Grandma Sandy and I took a week off to enjoy MDI. Having spent almost every summer there as a child, it was nice to bring Emma back to enjoy some of things I enjoyed as a child. We stayed at a lovely house right on the ocean and enjoyed the sounds of the waves and smell of the ocean. It was a wonderful trip, up until the part where Grandma Sandy fell and needed a trip to the ER to get a cast for her broken arm. Other than this mishap, it was a great trip!!
